Almost too funny is the line that goes around the corner at Abercrombie & Fitch, where the first person in line still has to wait 10 minutes before they will let him into the store. They are across the street from us. This was not a day for baby strollers. The likelihood of being trampled was high. It is only May. What will come next? Double-decker sidewalks?
Actually, as a New Yorker, I am grateful that these crowds are here. They are filling the hotels, the restaurants and the shops and keeping a lagging economy running at full steam. New York is a special place.
