The preparations for the FIFA Congress, June 2nd and 3rd and the meetings which are held in the prior week, including the CONCACAF Congress are taking shape as we prepare for the next meeting of FIFA staff in early March. Clearly, as the time is growing nearer, the excitement and expectations of the important event in the FIFA calendar is rising on a daily basis.

The new CONCACAF VideoSignals...

On January 12, we introduced a new feature on the CONCACAF Website... VideoSignals. Signals has been a weekly internet publication of CONCACAF, each Tuesday conveying the summary of the previous week's happenings. VideoSignals brings a daily summary of event and matches going on in the Confederation and reports it in a simple verbal presentation which gives meaning and insight into the events. You can find it Monday thru Friday on the CONCACAF website, www.concacaf.com on the lower left hand corner of the page.

You can also find VideoSignal on the CONCACAF channel page on YouTube. It will also appear here on this blog daily in the left column below the "Chuck with..." slideshow.

Dinner with our Miami People...

Evenings in Miami offer great places to talk and eat. Prime Italian was opened only six weeks prior to our discovering this great family style restaurant. Pictured here are (seated) Guillermo Canedo, Chuck Blazer, Italo Zanzi (standing) Roberto Zanzi, Manolo Zubiria, Ricardo Sarille.

How do you know when it is cold in Miami?

Because, no one is at the pool.

Heather O'Reilly receives, on behalf of U.S. Women's Soccer, the President's Award being handed over by FIFA Vice President Jack A. Warner. The USA had a remarkable record of 2 Gold and 1 Silver Medals this year in the Olympics, U20 and U17 competitions.

Marta, the Women's Player of the Year recipient, joins Cristiano Ronaldo following the presentations on stage to pose for a winners picture. Marta will be part of the new Los Angeles franchise of Women's Professional Soccer, the USA's new league in 2009.
